Harry Benson

Harry Benson

With his work published in LIFE Magazine, Vanity Fair, People, Newsweek and Architectural Digest among others, Scottish-born photojournalist Harry Benson's CV is certainly impressive. He has photographed 11 U.S. presidents from Dwight D Eisenhower to Barack Obama, legends and icons such as Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor, and was standing next to Bobby Kennedy the night he was murdered. Apart from portraiture, Benson has also covered several war zones, from Iraq to Bosnia and Afghanistan. In 1964, Benson was assigned to travel with the Beatles on their first American tour. Here, he tells us about meeting the legendary band, the story behind the iconic pillow fight pictures and what makes a good photograph. www.harrybenson.com www.taschen.com
