Frieze Five 2012

Revisiting last year's fair with a quintet of expert eyes.

A curator (Susie Allen), two artists (Lachlan Goudie and Christopher Gray), a gallery manager (Helen Ralli) and a critic (JJ Charlesworth) offer their unfiltered thoughts and critiques of three seminal pieces at this year's Frieze. First under the spotlight is Asli Cavusoglu's "Murder in Three Acts", a real-time performance piece at the junction of art and media, which plays out a presumed crime drama. Next up is former architect Tomás Saraceno's "Untitled", a spider-web-like installation that explores the boundaries of art, nature and science. Finally, we discuss Hans- Peter Feldmann's "Carton Boxes", a work that challenges our perception of simplicity and beauty.
